Dr. Hunt graduated from Purdue University in 2018. He worked for Smith Veterinary in high school and in the summers of undergrad. He practices small animal medicine and surgery with a strong interest in canine reproduction.
He has dogs (1 Bullmastiff and 1 American Staffordshire Terrier) and 3 cats at home.
Dr. Peralez grew up in Decatur, Indiana. She graduated from Purdue University with her DVM degree in May 2024.
She is excited to have moved back to Adams County to be near her family and friends. She has a passion for feline medicine, with hopes of becoming a feline specialist in the future. In her free time, she enjoys discovering new parks with her daughters, reading, and spending time with her family.
Joni Bollenbacher grew up right here in Berne, In. Her first job was working at Smith Veterinary Hospital. After high school she went to Purdue University and graduated with her Bachelor's in Veterinary Technology. Straight out of college, she worked as the head surgery technician and office manager for a multi- doctor practice in Fort Wayne for 11 years. She then decided to take some time off to raise her family. In 2019 she decided to come back to where her love for veterinary medicine started and work at Smith Veterinary Hospital again.
She and her husband, Vince have three daughters (Reagan, Charlee, and Kennedy). They live on a grain and turkey farm. She enjoys showing her cutting horses and trail riding in her spare time. She has several cats, horses, a Great Dane (Marty), and a Brussels Griffon (Gabby).
Meghan graduated from Adams Central High School in 2008. She worked here at Smith Vet through high school and some during college. She went to Purdue university and graduated with her Bachelors in Veterinary Technology in 2012.
She married her husband in July 2015 and has three little boys at home. They live with their Golden Retriever-Laney, Mini Aussie-Elsie, Mini Poodle-Buck and Standard Poodle- Louie out in the country near Monroe.
She's very excited to be at Smith Veterinary Hospital, and to be a part of their great team!
Valerie has been working here at Smith Veterinary Hospital since....well her entire life. She is Dr. Madge and Dr. Larry's youngest daughter. She has grown up in the practice and assist's wherever she's needed. Her off the clock time is filled with animal related activities. She breeds and shows Cardigan Welsh Corgis. Her dogs are shown in conformation as well as being her constant companions. She has two beloved beloved ponies, Scotch and Doug and a Gypsy Vanner mare named Ducks.
She has a strong love of animals and is very happy to be working here with you and your pets.
Sherri has always had a passion for small and large animals. She and her husband Jay live on a small farm outside of Monroe. They have four adult children, one son-in-law, and seven grand doggies, three huskies, a golden lab, a labradoodle, mini goldendoodle, and a lab/pit mix.
She also enjoys her miniature donkies, miniature horses, and her dogs Trigger (coonhound mix), and her baby Oakley (yorkie mix). She loves being a part of this amazing team here at Smith Veterinary Hospital!
Kelly lives in Decatur, with her dogs Dixie, Ollie, and 2 cats - Stella & Spike. Kelly graduated from the Vet Tech Institute in Fort Wayne in 2019 and has been a RVT for 4 years! Kelly loves the outdoors and camping.
Aside from being a full time RVT she teaches ages 3-5 Sunday school at church!
Jen has been working in the veterinary field for about 22 years in a variety of roles- Veterinary Assistant, Animal Behavior Consultant, Obedience Trainer, Groomer and is currently working as a receptionist. She loves all aspects of working in the veterinary field and loves working with our clients as well as their pets.
She is married with 3 kids.
Jen enjoys riding her horse Ziva Jolena, with her family and friends, helping with 4-H, and all of the kids' sporting events. The family has 3 dogs, 2 horses, 1 goat, 1 pig, and 3 cats. She has also trained her own diabetic alert dog, Cinch that she sometimes brings to work with her.
Willow graduated from Adams High School 2023, she is attending Purdue University. She started working at Smith Veterinary Hospital early in the fall of 2019.
She has a cat named, Lucifer and a dog named, Harry. She loves working here with the amazing staff and seeing everything that they do. Willow dreams of being a veterinarian one day and will start pre-vet at Purdue University in 2023
Brianne is our "crazy cat lady" :) She graduated from Elida High School in 2012 . She has two beautiful children, Wyatt & Maliya. She has 9 cats keep her company at home: Sadie, Marley, Oliver, New Kitty, Roxy, Marshmallow, Gray, Tiger and Fievel. In her spare time she loves to bake and spend time with her family. Brie is very happy to be part of the Smith Veterinary team and excited for the future!
